A Message from Kiel Kellow

At Kellow Construction, we believe every project should deliver exceptional results and be a great experience. As I always say, if it’s not a win win, it’s not a win. I stay hands on in both design and production because that’s where the results are, plus it’s the most fun!

My Journey to Kellow Construction

Building is just what we’ve done in the Kellow Family. My grandpa, uncle, and dad built our family farm and our homes on the Oregon Coast, where sawdust and rain were part of daily life. In 2002, I got into the trades as a marine construction laborer in Seattle. Cold mornings, tugboats, long days in Xtratuf boots. Hard, dirty work that made residential framing and restoration feel like a break. For the next 12 years, I learned from old school craftsmen in Seattle, Bainbridge Island, British Columbia, and Portland. Men who built before power tools and had stories etched in their hands.

Wood and craft are in my grain. It’s what I do. Whether it’s an ADU, a remodel, or a whole home transformation, those lessons show up in our work, and the details that matter. Every project is an opportunity to build better, to create something strong and timeless. Not every detail matters equally. Our craft is knowing which ones do.

That’s why we built a proven process. To ensure clarity, quality, and a build that lasts.

The Kellow Construction Process

Discovery and Feasibility
We start by understanding your vision, lifestyle, and goals. This isn’t just about design. It’s about assessing your lot, structure, and most importantly, you.

Design and Planning
As both owner and craftsman, I work closely with clients and our design team to ensure every plan is beautiful, functional, and buildable. My involvement keeps the process smooth and efficient.

Construction
We focus on clear communication, weekly client meetings, and expert execution. We handle everything. Permits, regulations, and logistics. So you can focus on watching your project take shape.

Warranty
After completion, we return for 60 day and one year warranty visits to fine tune anything needed. And long after, we’re still your first call when something comes up.

Collaboration with Third Party Architects and Designers
Kellow Construction is Design Build, we primarily design and permit in house, but some projects bring outside architects or designers. We love working with and learning from other experts, and when the scope and budget allow, their involvement can be invaluable.  For these partnerships to succeed, we should be involved early. This ensures scope, materials, timeline, and budget stay realistic. A strong partnership between design and construction keeps the process efficient and grounded.  The best results happen when creativity and constructability work together from the start.

What Sets Us Apart
Most builders, build. We design, refine, and build with precision. Our deep design experience ensures seamless execution and details that matter.

We limit intentionally limit our client roster, giving each one our full focus. Though we’re a small team, we run with big firm efficiency, using technology, project management software, and tight systems to stay sharp and organized.

Our love for traditional and historic structures means we honor craftsmanship, proportion, and lasting quality. We don’t just follow plans. We protect the integrity of every design throughout construction.

From trade coordination to budget tracking, we communicate clearly and act decisively. That’s how we build trust.
Whether a multimillion dollar retrofit or a three week deck job, our approach is the same. Expert execution, deep care, and unwavering integrity. We deliver excellence.

Building More Than Homes
At Kellow Construction, we don’t just build homes. We build relationships. A home isn’t a showpiece, it’s a living thing. Your builder should be a trusted partner for as long as you live there.  From my early days working on sailboats to running a skilled team in Santa Barbara, I’ve always valued craftsmanship, collaboration, and character. I’m proud of what we build and the process we’ve refined to make it happen.

Let’s talk. If you’re ready to start, schedule a consultation and let’s make it real.
Sincerely,
Kiel Kellow
